This is a Fourth Revised Edition of "A Manual for Alcoholics Anonymous" (The Akron Manual) from the early 1940's.
“This pamphlet was written and edited by members of Alcoholics Anonymous of Akron, Ohio. It was in Akron that Alcoholics Anonymous was founded in 1935. Among Akron members are one of the founders, the first person to accept the program, and a large number of other members whose sobriety dates back to 1935, 1936 and 1937.”

This manual is a phenomenal read for the AA member and AA historian. It lays out the process of hospitalizing the prospect, the sponsors' role in sending AA's to tell their stories, the role of the sponsee inside and out of the hospital...how to start carrying the message, suggested readings, a page to get contact info from visitors, etc.
