Signed Letter from Bill W. to Olie L.

This is a typed and signed letter from AA cofounder Bill Wilson to his friend and Texas AA member Olin Lancaster.

The letter is dated August 13, 1956. The letter is on two separate pages with Bill’s signature on page 2.

This is a wonderful piece of correspondence between Bill and a close friend of his that shows Bill’s gratitude for all that Olie has done in helping others in AA.

This letter was sent in response to a letter that Bill W. received from Olie. The content of this letter covers various topics including the Texas State AA Conference, the well-being of Ebby T. and Esther E, and the upcoming publication of AA Comes of Age.

Olin Lancaster was an early AA member from Texas and is the man that had initially brought Ebby Thacker to Texas to sober up in the early 1950’s. Olie was an early AA delegate to the GSC and a speaker at both the 1950 International Convention in Cleveland and the 1955 International Convention in St. Louis. He was also the man that was most influential in raising the money to help  Bill and Lois W. purchase a new car in the 1950’s.
