About Emmet Fox:

Emmet Fox, born in Ireland in 1886 and passing away in France in 1951, was one of the most influential spiritual writers of the early 20th century. Raised and educated in London, Fox moved to the United States in 1931 where he was appointed the minister of New York's Divine Science Church of the Healing Christ. His sermons quickly resonated with people during the depths of the Great Depression, and he became known for his uplifting and transformative teachings. Attendance at his church services often exceeded 5,000, and his works gained immense popularity.

Fox's teachings were rooted in the principles of New Thought, a spiritual movement that emphasized the power of positive thinking, prayer, and personal transformation. His books became a source of inspiration for millions seeking spiritual healing and renewal.

Influence on Alcoholics Anonymous:

One of the lesser-known aspects of Emmet Fox’s influence is his profound impact on the early members of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). As they sought a spiritual foundation for their recovery, the pioneers of AA turned to Fox’s writings for guidance. His interpretation of the Sermon on the Mount and his other works deeply influenced the spiritual perspectives found in the AA Big Book. Many members of the fellowship read Fox's teachings to understand the spiritual practices that shaped the early days of AA. His messages of self-transformation and spiritual awakening continue to resonate with members of AA and other 12-step programs today.

About the Book:

This rare first edition of Sermon on the Mount from 1934 captures Emmet Fox's insightful analysis of the biblical text and its application to modern life. In his signature style, Fox breaks down the Sermon’s teachings into actionable steps for personal growth, making this a timeless guide for spiritual seekers.

This specific edition is particularly rare and significant, given its first release in 1934, placing it in the early years of Fox’s prolific career.
