Body, Mind and Spirit

by Elwood Worcester & Samuel McComb

This book was originally published in 1931 in Great Britain. This printing was published by Charles Scribner’s Sons in the United States in 1932. This book has its original dust jacket.

Toward the first half of the 20th Century, authors Worcester and McComb were founders of what came to be popularly known as the "Emmanuel Movement", an incorporation of the nascent field of psychology into a Christian ministry toward the physical & mental health of individuals as well as their spiritual well-being. The movement saw particular application with regard to alcoholism, though it was neither related to Alcoholics Anonymous or Christian Science. In 1931, Elwood Worcester retired from the rectory of Emmanuel Church in Boston (which he had at one time shared with McComb) to write this volume with McComb on the general integration of physical, mental, and spiritual health, as well as case studies from their experience and scientific & religious justifications for their work.

This book is in excellent condition. The cover has experienced minimal wear. The gilt text on the spine is bright with no wear. There is no writing or markings in the book. The original dust jacket has edge wear and tears along the spine and folds.
