Description

This is the First Printing (1990) of Daily Reflections: A Book of Reflections by A.A. Members for A.A. Members, the first official collection of daily meditations published by Alcoholics Anonymous World Services, Inc.

The concept for Daily Reflections originated as an Advisory Action of the 1987 General Service Conference, which recognized the need for a book of short, daily readings written by A.A. members for A.A. members. The result was a volume that moves through the calendar year—one day at a time—blending quotations from A.A. Conference-approved literature with personal reflections that speak to the Fellowship’s collective experience.

Each day’s entry opens with an excerpt from classic A.A. texts such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions, A.A. Comes of Age, As Bill Sees It, and The Best of Bill. What follows are reflections written by over 1,300 members worldwide, creating a unified chorus of insight and spiritual growth that highlights A.A.’s Three Legacies: Recovery, Unity, and Service.

Since its first publication in 1990, Daily Reflections has become one of A.A.’s most cherished books—often used at meetings, anniversaries, and as part of personal spiritual practice.

Historical Significance

Daily Reflections stands as a milestone in A.A. publishing history — the first official daily meditation book written entirely by members of the Fellowship. It captures the diversity of experience, thought, and gratitude within Alcoholics Anonymous, presenting a spiritual companion that remains in daily use by countless members more than three decades after its release.

The First Printing (1990) copies are increasingly difficult to find in collectible condition, as most were well used in daily practice rather than preserved. This copy represents an authentic piece of modern A.A. literature history — the beginning of a text that continues to inspire reflection, service, and daily growth around the world.
