From a Far Country is the story of "the prize fighter who won a battle with himself." In simple, attractive and intensely interesting style the author tells of his experiences as a student, as a soldier during the World War, as a sailor and wanderer, a professional boxer, a member of the Oxford Group, a student in a Protestant seminary, a street preacher and finally as a convert to the Catholic Church and an assistant to David Goldstein in his outdoor apostolate of Campaigning for Christ.
Mr. Dorsey is now carrying on the same work which Mr. Goldstein is doing. His field is the West; Mr. Goldstein's principally the Eastern and New England States. Theirs is a work which is spreading marvelously and which is doing much to carry the Catholie message to those who can be reached in no other way. Hundreds of non-Catholics have heard the truth about the Church for the first time when in attendance at lectures delivered by these lay apostles. Scores of them have found their way into the Church. It is the hope of the author and publishers of this book that it will further their apostolate, which deserves every encouragement from the clergy and laity.

The purpose of this book is to attempt to show how one pilgrim has found the answer to the question, "Lord, to whom shall we go"? and to set forth some of the fundamentals of Christian teaching. It is my belief that religion and the salvation of one's soul is, in the last analysis, the one thing that really matters. After being in the Far Country for many years I have come home— to Christ's home on earth, the Holy, Catho-lie Church.
My chief aim is to show that ever since Apostolic times there is but One to whom we should turn for salvation and light, Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church, which is His Mystical Body on earth. - The Author.
