Extremely Rare January 1945 War Time Printing 

The 7th Printing had Least Number of Big Books Printed in A.A. History

The January 1945 printing of the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous is the rarest of all Big Books, the one missing from most collections! This book was intended to be reduced in size to comply with U.S. rationing mandates during World War II, and to comply with the notice that was actually printed in the front of the book (see pictures)! However, an error at the printer caused the book to remain at the prior large size. The 7th printing is dated January 1945 and cut short after catching the mistake. The 8th printing is dated February 1945 and is the corrected, much reduced size . The exact number of 7th printings released is unknown, but may be as low as a few hundred. 

These books are extremely difficult to get and are very hard to come by. It is the book that completes the collection for many!

Condition

This is as clean and solid a 7th printing as we have come across. The boards are deep and consistent blue with only minor flaws in the cloth cover. The gilt is bright and consistent. The hinges and binding are solid! There is an owner's name and address in the front and no other writing or marks in the book!
