Alcoholics Anonymous Big Book First Edition 4th Printing from 1943 - Green Cover - Original dust jacket
Alcoholics Anonymous Big Book — First Edition, Fourth Printing (1943)
Green Cloth Cover with Original Dust Jacket
Offered here is an authentic First Edition, Fourth Printing of the Alcoholics Anonymous Big Book, published in March 1943 by Works Publishing Company.
This historically important printing consisted of 5,000 copies, with the first 3,500 bound in green cloth, followed by 1,500 copies bound in navy blue. This copy is from the earlier green cloth binding, making it particularly desirable to collectors.
The Fourth Printing is notable for containing key textual updates, including the change on page 27 in the chapter “There Is a Solution,” where the phrase was revised from “hundreds of men who were once” to “thousands of men and women who were once.” This printing also includes the chapter titled “Now We Are Eight Thousand” (page 391), reflecting the rapid growth of AA at that time.
