Religion That Works
SERMONS OF PRACTICAL CHRISTIAN LIFE
by Samuel M. Shoemaker

Introduction:
I AM not fond of reading sermons. Most of those which live in speech die in print; many more have never lived at all. But all the addresses, contained in this volume, I have read with profit and two of them, at least, I shall always remember.
For here are genuine convictions set forth with clarity and vigor. Here are the words of one who has found, for himself and others, the dynamic of a personal religion. On the basis of that experience he speaks to the world of here and now as we find it in our own American life in a great city. He puts down what one man thinks we ought to know about God and Man and Sin and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
There is life in these pages. May they bring life to those who read them.
