This is a First Edition 3rd Printing big book from 1942. This book has been signed and possible a personal copy belonging to Marty Mann and inscribed with “April 1939” which is when she first attended AA at Bill W’s home on Clinton Street.
Marty Mann is well known as the first woman to enter AA and to stay sober. She founded the National Council on Alcoholism and devoted her life to helping alcoholics and raising awareness.
This book features beautiful custom bound blue cover. This book comes with a reproduction dust jacket.
The Third Printing of the First Edition Alcoholics Anonymous Big Book was published in June 1942 with 5,000 copies released. On page 27, the first page of "There is a Solution", there was a change to the second line of text that previously read "one hundred men who were once" to "hundreds of men who were once". Page 391 in this book is titled "Now We Are Six Thousand"
The book is in very good condition. There is very little wear to the cover and spine. This book at one time was professionally rebound and remains in very good condition.
The previous owner of this book signed their name underneath Marty Mann’s inscription.
There are stains on several pages in the book.
