“In 1934, Victor Constant Kitchen published a book called "I Was A Pagan", describing his discovery of the Oxford Group and the way it had changed his life. This little volume is one of the most useful of the works which were written during that period, for those who wish to obtain detailed knowledge about the group's central beliefs and practices, including such things as house parties, confession, moral inventory, quiet time, and guidance. There are also excellent descriptions.of some of the spiritual experiences which the group's members had. It is equally important in terms of understanding the early Alcoholics Anonymous movement, and what the A.A. people learned from the Oxford Group.”
