Alcoholics Anonymous 50th Anniversary First Edition by CTM
This book is the very first version of a reprint of the book Alcoholics Anonymous. This is a numbered book with this being number “000179”
This is an exact reproduction of the 1939 Big Book which was published in 1985 in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of AA. This reprint was the first one ever done after the recognition of the copyright on the original book had lapsed. The book was published by Carry the Message, Inc. in Akron, OH. When this book was printed It caused some controversy and many of the old timers in AA were not happy - but I think they all bought a copy.

INTRODUCTION TO
50th ANNIVERSARY REPRINT
The sole intention of this reprint:
For several years many of us in Alcoholics Anonymous have been concerned with the insidious gradual eroding away from our original, primary purpose of carrying the message.
With the intention to reawaken and reaffirm this purpose in the hearts and minds of A.A.'s everywhere, there could be no more fitting occasion to reprint the original Big Book than the 50th Anniversary of the founding of A.A.
This revised edition, a reproduction of the first printing of the Big Book is being printed with the hope that it will make possible a reawakening of and rededication to our original, primary purpose of continuous sobriety and carrying the message to the still suffering alcoholic.
A portion of proceeds to Akron Area Intergroup Office, Akron, Ohio, the birthplace of Alcoholics Anonymous.
