Bill W. Conscious Contact | Kitchen Table Edition
Bill W. Conscious Contact — Kitchen Table Edition
By Jay Stinnett
Bill W. Conscious Contact offers a remarkable look at Alcoholics Anonymous co-founder Bill Wilson—not simply as one of the architects of A.A., but as a lifelong spiritual seeker whose exploration of faith, consciousness, and spiritual experience continued throughout his life.
Drawing from the extraordinary archives at Stepping Stones, the project brings together rare photographs of Bill and Lois Wilson, personal correspondence, historical documents, previously unpublished material, and discoveries made during the research and production of the acclaimed documentary film Bill W. Conscious Contact.
The Kitchen Table Edition
The Kitchen Table Edition is an oversized 11” × 11” Big Book Blue leather-bound hardcover, finished with hot-gold foil stamping and designed by Jeanine Johnston.
Created as a presentation of the highest quality, the larger format showcases the remarkable candid photography of Bill and Lois Wilson featured in the film—including images rarely or never previously seen—with exceptional reproduction and detail.
The volume also includes bonus material not found in the standard paperback edition.
Each copy offered by Recovery Collectibles is personally signed by author and producer Jay Stinnett. The signature is placed directly in the book, and signed copies are available for immediate shipment.
The Kitchen Table Edition is not available through Amazon and is offered through the project and a select group of recovery-focused retailers, including Recovery Collectibles.
Why the “Kitchen Table Edition”?
The kitchen table holds a special place in the history of recovery.
From Ebby T.’s visit with Bill Wilson at Clinton Street, to Bill’s early conversations with Dr. Bob and Anne Smith, to the countless conversations that have taken place between one alcoholic and another, some of recovery’s most important moments have happened simply—with people sitting across a table from one another.
Jay Stinnett and Jeanine Johnston carried that idea into the creation of this edition.
As they write on its opening pages:
“Our fondest wish is that you do not consider the musty past, but open this book with the miracle seated across the kitchen table from you.”
— Jay & Jeanine
About Bill W. Conscious Contact
The book grew from the 58-minute documentary film Bill W. Conscious Contact, produced by Jay Stinnett and directed by Kevin Hanlon.
The project explores a less familiar side of Bill Wilson’s story: his continuing search for a deeper understanding of spiritual experience. Research conducted for the film drew extensively from the archives at Stepping Stones, the longtime home of Bill and Lois Wilson.
The resulting book brings the film to the printed page, combining its narrative with archival photographs, correspondence, historical material, and the complete film transcript.
