Conference Digest 1960 — Tenth Annual A.A. General Service Conference
Offered here is the Highlights Edition of Conference Digest 1960, issued for the groups following the Tenth Annual General Service Conference of Alcoholics Anonymous, held in New York April 24–30, 1960. Its principal headline reads “10th Conference Rededicates A.A. To Service.”
First convened in 1951, the General Service Conference created a continuing link between A.A. groups and the people responsible for the Fellowship’s shared services. This tenth Conference took place during A.A.’s twenty-fifth-anniversary year, as preparations were being made for the 1960 International Convention.
The Digest reports on literature, group relations, public information, institutional work, finances, and overseas activity. It includes a 1959 group-contribution table and an article headed “Communication Is Key Factor, Bill Says.” These details reveal the practical work behind the Fellowship’s growth: maintaining contact, supporting services, and carrying information back to local groups.
