Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions Second Printing — Original Dust Jacket
Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions
Second Printing — Alcoholics Anonymous Publishing, Inc.
Hardcover with Original Dust Jacket
Description
Offered here is a very nice early Second Printing of Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions, published by Alcoholics Anonymous Publishing, Inc.
First published in 1953, Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions quickly became one of A.A.’s central texts, expanding on the spiritual principles of the Twelve Steps while also preserving Bill W.’s explanation of the Twelve Traditions—the principles that helped protect A.A.’s unity, anonymity, and singleness of purpose as the Fellowship continued to grow.
Early printings of the “12 & 12” are especially collectible because they represent the beginning of the book’s long life in A.A. service, sponsorship, step study, and group conscience.
Identifying the Second Printing
The Second and Third Printings of Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions are very similar, with no clear printing statement or year printed on the copyright page. However, this copy can be identified as a Second Printing by the final line of text at the bottom of page 18:
“Grand Central Terminal Annex, New York City, U.S.A.”
This line differs from the Third Printing and serves as an important identifying point for collectors.
